CVE-2025-55010Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Admin remote code execution via event deserialization

Published Aug 12, 2025 · Updated Aug 12, 2025

Unsafe deserialization in Kanboard before 1.2.47 allows remote authenticated users with admin access to execute code on the host. ProjectActivityEventFormatter passes legacy activity data beginning with “a” from the project_activities table directly to PHP unserialize(), permitting arbitrary object instantiation. An administrator must alter and reimport the database, after which viewing a crafted comment activity triggers a SwiftMailer gadget that writes a PHP web shell under the plugins directory.
