CVE-2025-54882Public exploit

User impersonation via world-readable Kerberos caches

Published Aug 7, 2025 · Updated Aug 7, 2025

Insufficient credential protection in Himmelblau 0.8.0 through 0.9.21 and 1.0.0-beta through 1.1.0 allows local users to steal Kerberos TGTs. The tasks daemon creates /tmp/krb5cc_ with permissive modes and writes primary, tkt, or cloud_tkt files without owner-only permissions. Any low-privileged local user can read another user's cached TGT and impersonate that user to access unauthorized resources.
