Stored XSS via unescaped shortcode attributes
Published Jun 26, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored XSS in WP Masonry & Infinite Scroll 2.2 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through wmis shortcode attributes. The wmis shortcode renderer places user-supplied attributes into generated page markup without sufficient sanitization or output escaping. Contributor-level access permits payload storage, and the script executes in a visitor's browser when the injected page is viewed.
