CVE-2025-54873Network attack vector

Invalid proofs via underconstrained division circuit

Published Aug 5, 2025 · Updated Aug 6, 2025

Incorrect calculation in RISC Zero zkVM 2.0.0 through 2.1.0 allows remote attackers to produce invalid division proofs. The RV32IM division circuit fails to constrain signed division to a unique valid output and leaves division-by-zero results underconstrained. A verifier must process a proof generated with an affected circuit; acceptance corrupts application decisions and can interrupt service without exposing confidential data.
