Modbus communication interruption via unauthenticated register write
Published Dec 1, 2025 · Updated Dec 1, 2025
Missing authentication in Socomec DIRIS Digiware M-70 1.6.9 allows remote attackers to interrupt Modbus communications via a crafted request. The Modbus TCP service accepts an unauthenticated function-code 6 write of value 1 to register 4352, changing the gateway address to 15. Network access to TCP port 502 is sufficient; the device then stops responding normally across its Modbus links, without reported data disclosure or code execution.
