Authenticated device reboot via crafted HTTP requests
Published Dec 9, 2025 · Updated Jan 14, 2026
Incorrect authorization in Fortinet FortiPortal 7.4.0 through 7.4.5 allows remote authenticated users to reboot a shared FortiGate. In a multi-VDOM environment, FortiPortal accepts crafted HTTP requests from an authenticated session and permits the reboot operation; Fortinet has not identified the endpoint or missing authorization check. Exploitation requires portal credentials and can interrupt service on a firewall shared by multiple tenants.
