Administrator-level code execution via rendered theme templates
Published Sep 19, 2025 · Updated Sep 19, 2025
Server-side template injection in PPress CMS 0.0.9-beta allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code through uploaded themes. Theme Management accepts attacker-edited Jinja2 files and later renders them with access to url_for globals, exposing Python built-ins and os.popen. Administrator access is required, and loading the modified page runs operating-system commands with the CMS process privileges.
