CVE-2025-54810

Credential theft via unencrypted management protocol

Published Sep 18, 2025 · Updated Sep 18, 2025

Cleartext credential exposure in Cognex In-Sight products 5.x through 6.5.1 allows attackers to obtain device credentials via adjacent traffic. The user-management exchange sends registered usernames and passwords over the proprietary management protocol on TCP port 1069 without encryption. The attacker must observe traffic while a user interacts with the device; captured valid credentials grant authenticated device access.
