Unauthorized file access via prefix-based path validation

Path traversal in Anthropic Claude Code before 0.2.111 allows remote attackers to access files outside the current working directory. The path restriction check compares string prefixes instead of canonical paths, so a sibling directory sharing the working directory's prefix passes validation. Exploitation requires an attacker-controlled same-prefix directory and untrusted content in the context window, exposing files beyond the intended project boundary.
