CVE-2025-54792Public exploit

File interception via spoofed UDP discovery

Published Aug 1, 2025 · Updated Aug 4, 2025

Man-in-the-middle weakness in LocalSend 1.17.0 and earlier allows remote attackers on the local network to intercept file transfers. The discovery handler trusts the source address and device data in unauthenticated UDP multicast packets, allowing forged announcements to replace a legitimate peer in the displayed device list. A user must select the forged peer; the attacker can then read transferred data or substitute modified files.
