CVE-2025-5477

Code execution via unchecked Bluetooth L2CAP length

Published Jun 21, 2025 · Updated Jun 23, 2025

Heap-based buffer overflow in Sony XAV-AX8500 firmware 2.00.01 allows remote attackers to execute code through paired Bluetooth. The L2CAP implementation copies user-supplied data into a heap buffer without validating its declared length, corrupting process memory. A malicious Bluetooth device must first pair with the receiver; successful exploitation runs code in the elysian-bt-service process.
