CVE-2025-54769Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated code execution via traversed upgrade upload

Published Jul 28, 2025 · Updated Nov 3, 2025

Directory traversal in Xorux LPAR2RRD 8.04 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute code through a crafted upgrade upload. The upgrade.sh endpoint accepts a multipart filename containing ../, rejects the file as an invalid upgrade package, but still writes it outside the upload directory, allowing overwrite of Perl scripts under /home/lpar2rrd/lpar2rrd/bin. Read-only access is sufficient, and invoking a CGI script that loads the overwritten module runs attacker-controlled code as the lpar2rrd account.
