CVE-2025-54765Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Read-only-to-administrator escalation via configuration re-import

Published Jul 28, 2025 · Updated Nov 3, 2025

Privilege escalation in Xorux XorMon-NG 1.8 through 1.9.37 allows remote authenticated users to gain web administrator access. The /api/confporter/v1/import endpoint accepts an encrypted configuration archive from a read-only account and applies attacker-edited users_groups.csv and users.csv authorization records. Exploitation requires a valid read-only session; re-importing an archive encrypted with the default undefined passphrase adds the account to the Admin group and clears its read-only flag.
