CVE-2025-54756

Unauthorized local device access via guessable default password

Published Feb 12, 2026 · Updated Feb 12, 2026

Use of default credentials in BrightSign Series 4 Players before 8.5.53.1 and Series 5 Players before 9.0.166 allows local users to access devices. The default password is predictable from device information, allowing that information to substitute for a secret credential. No prior privileges or user interaction are required, but an attacker must have local access and know the relevant device information.
