Subscriber-level unauthorized plugin installation via missing capability check
Published Dec 18, 2025 · Updated Dec 18, 2025
Missing authorization in WPXPO PostX 4.1.36 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to perform unauthorized plugin installation. The plugin installation handler omits the capability check required before invoking WordPress installation logic, but public sources do not name the function or request parameter. Subscriber-level access is required, and published sources do not identify the install target, activation behavior, or any code-execution consequence.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
