Adjacent authenticated code execution via stack overflow
Published Aug 6, 2025 · Updated Aug 6, 2025
Stack-based buffer overflow in Huawei HarmonyOS 5.1.0 dms_fwk allows remote authenticated users to execute code from an adjacent network. Huawei has not disclosed the input, function, or memory-copy operation that overruns the module's stack buffer. Exploitation requires low privileges and adjacent-network reachability, needs no user interaction, and executes code within the affected service context.
