Secret theft via privileged canary workflow execution
Published Aug 5, 2025 · Updated Aug 6, 2025
Code injection in Callstack React Native Bottom Tabs 0.9.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to steal repository secrets. The release-canary.yml pull_request_target workflow checks out fork code and runs npm install, executing a pull request's package.json preinstall script with privileged tokens. A fork contributor needs only open a malicious pull request and post !canary; execution can expose GitHub and npm tokens or corrupt future package releases.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=<= 0.9.2
