OS command injection in Puppet Enterprise 2018.1.8 through 2023.8.3 and 2025.3 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands as root. Node-group editing accepts a specially crafted class parameter and passes its contents to command execution on the primary host without adequate neutralization. Exploitation requires specific node-group editing permissions; successful commands run with root privileges on the Linux primary server.
