Application abort via valueless charset assertion
Published Jun 2, 2025 · Updated Jul 29, 2026
Denial of service in Qt Framework allows remote attackers to abort assertion-enabled applications through malformed data URLs. The private qDecodeDataUrl() function in QtCore passes a valueless charset parameter into an assertion-sensitive decoding path instead of rejecting it. Affected QtCore builds are reachable through QTextDocument, QNetworkReply, or application code, but the abort occurs only when assertions are enabled and a caller processes the malformed URL.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
