Privilege escalation via ACAP path traversal
Published Nov 11, 2025 · Updated Nov 11, 2025
Path traversal in AXIS OS 12.0.0 through 12.6.17 allows attackers to escalate privileges through a malicious ACAP application. An ACAP configuration file accepts path-traversal input without sufficient validation, but Axis has not disclosed the file, field, or privileged operation involved. Exploitation requires a device configured to permit unsigned ACAP installations and a victim who installs the malicious application.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
