CVE-2025-5452Network attack vector

Privilege escalation via exposed service account credentials

Published Nov 11, 2025 · Updated Nov 11, 2025

Credential exposure in Axis Communications AB AXIS OS 12.0.0 through 12.6.68 allows attackers to elevate a malicious ACAP application. AXIS OS exposes admin-level service account credentials used by legitimate ACAP applications to the malicious application; Axis has not disclosed the responsible component or credential-handling operation. Exploitation requires unsigned ACAP installation to be enabled and a victim to install the malicious application, after which its access can rise to the service accounts' administrative level.
