Privilege escalation via installer DLL side-loading
Published Aug 11, 2026 · Updated Aug 11, 2026
DLL hijacking in AMD Ryzen Master and its Monitoring SDK allows local users to execute code with elevated privileges during installation. The installer insufficiently verifies creation and use of its setup folder, then side-loads DLLs from that attacker-writable location. Exploitation requires a low-privileged local user to place a malicious DLL before an administrator runs the installer, which executes it with elevated privileges.
