Code execution via unchecked MFER Tag 131 length
Published Aug 25, 2025 · Updated Aug 25, 2025
Stack-based buffer overflow in BioSig libbiosig 3.9.0 and Master Branch (35a819fa) allows attackers to execute code via a crafted MFER file. In the biosig.c Tag 131 Patient Age branch, the parser warns when len differs from seven but still passes the untrusted length to ifread for the stack buffer buf. Automatic parsing of an attacker-supplied MFER file requires no authentication or user interaction and enables code execution in the calling process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
