Code execution via oversized MFER preamble
Published Aug 25, 2025 · Updated Aug 25, 2025
Stack-based buffer overflow in libbiosig 3.9.0 and Master Branch (35a819fa) allows attackers to execute code via a crafted MFER file. The Tag 64 preamble branch in biosig.c reads an attacker-controlled multi-octet length into a fixed 256-byte stack buffer without enforcing its capacity. Exploitation requires libbiosig to parse the supplied file and permits code execution in the calling process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
