Unauthenticated subscription edits via missing admin check
Published Aug 11, 2025 · Updated Aug 11, 2025
Missing authentication in Mattermost Confluence Plugin before 1.5.0 allows remote attackers to edit channel subscriptions through its API. The handleEditChannelSubscription handler processed requests without an IsSystemAdmin guard, allowing an unauthenticated identity to reach subscription-editing logic. Network access to an enabled plugin endpoint is sufficient, and exploitation changes notification subscription configuration without reported service interruption.
