CVE-2025-54470Network attack vector

Telemetry tampering and memory exhaustion via unsafe responses

Published Oct 30, 2025 · Updated Oct 30, 2025

Improper certificate validation in SUSE NeuVector allows man-in-the-middle attackers to alter telemetry or interrupt the controller service. The controller's sendRestReqInternal telemetry path used an HTTP client with InsecureSkipVerify enabled and read the entire response body without a size limit. The Report anonymous cluster data option must be enabled, and attackers must intercept the outbound connection or control its response; successful abuse exposes or changes anonymous telemetry or exhausts controller memory.
