CVE-2025-5447Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated OS command execution via MAC-filter input

Published Jun 2, 2025 · Updated Jun 2, 2025

OS command injection in six Linksys range extenders allows remote authenticated users to execute commands through the web interface. The ssid1MACFilter handler in mod_form.so passes attacker-controlled apselect_%d and newap_text_%d values from /goform/ssid1MACFilter to an operating-system command path without validating their contents. A valid management session is required; successful exploitation starts arbitrary processes on the extender, as demonstrated by launching a Telnet shell.
