CVE-2025-54460Network attack vector

Persistent executable upload via unrestricted publication targets

Published Aug 21, 2025 · Updated Aug 21, 2025

Unrestricted file upload in AVEVA PI Integrator before 2020 R2 SP2 allows remote authenticated users to persist executable files. Text File and HDFS publication targets accept dangerous file types and write them to persistent output locations without sufficient extension restrictions. The user must have privileges to create or access one of those target types, and code execution requires the persisted file to reach an executable path and be run.
