Contract-execution denial of service via unchecked gas target
Published Jul 28, 2025 · Updated Jul 28, 2025
Incorrect validation in Polkadot EVM Frontier before a754b3d allows attackers to make contract execution unaffordable over the network. The dynamic-fee pallet's check_inherent accepted note_min_gas_price_target values without checking them against current MinGasPrice bounds. Control of a block producer is required; repeated maximum-bound targets continually raise MinGasPrice and inflate transaction fees.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
