Authentication bypass via unsigned assertion parsing

Improper authentication in Node SAML 5.0.1 allows remote attackers to alter identity claims through a crafted, validly signed SAML response. The response validator verifies one XML fragment but parses the assertion from the original response document, allowing unsigned content to supply authentication details. Exploitation requires a valid IdP-signed document and can change the asserted username or other authentication details, enabling account impersonation.
