CVE-2025-54414Network attack vector

JavaScript execution via unchecked challenge redirect scheme

Published Jul 26, 2025 · Updated Jul 28, 2025

Cross-site scripting in Techaro Anubis before 1.21.3 allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript through a crafted challenge URL. The PassChallenge handler parses the redir parameter and assigns it to the request URL without restricting javascript, data, or other nonstandard schemes. Exploitation requires a user to open the crafted pass-challenge page and click Try Again, which can run script in the browser context or invoke a registered custom scheme.
