Code execution via unchecked MethodNode attribute traversal
Published Jul 26, 2025 · Updated Jul 28, 2025
Code execution in skops before 0.12.0 allows attackers to run arbitrary commands by loading a crafted model file. MethodNode trusts schema.json func and obj entries instead of its audited class and module fields, allowing chained dot traversal to Python builtins and exec. Exploitation requires a victim process to load the malicious model; execution then occurs with that process's privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
