Authenticated 2FA bypass via unchecked method enrollment
Published Sep 16, 2025 · Updated Sep 16, 2025
Improper access control in Zimbra Collaboration allows remote authenticated users to bypass 2FA through its SOAP endpoint. EnableTwoFactorAuthRequest accepts an additional authenticator app or email method without a valid authentication token or proof of an existing method. Valid account credentials are required; successful enrollment permits access to an account whose configured 2FA would otherwise block those credentials.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
