CVE-2025-54389Public exploit

Detection bypass via unescaped terminal control characters

Published Aug 14, 2025 · Updated Nov 4, 2025

Improper output neutralization in AIDE before 0.19.2 allows local users to conceal file changes or alter report and log output. Plain-report and logging paths emit filenames, extended-attribute keys, and symlink targets without escaping terminal control bytes. Exploitation requires creation of a monitored filesystem entry, and the altered display can mask malicious file additions or removals.
