CVE-2025-54380Network attack vector

Credential disclosure via unrestricted trusted HTTP client

Published Jul 26, 2025 · Updated Jul 28, 2025

Information disclosure in Opencast before 17.6 allows remote authenticated users to obtain hashed global system account credentials. TrustedHttpClientImpl attached Digest authentication credentials to GET and HEAD requests without first limiting the destination host to a registered cluster node. Ingest permission is required to supply a mediapackage XML element URL, which can point to an attacker-controlled server that receives the hashes.
