CVE-2025-54292Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Cross-project UI access via unencoded resource names

Published Oct 2, 2025 · Updated Oct 2, 2025

Path traversal in Canonical LXD 5.21 before 5.21.4 and 6.0 before 6.5 allows remote authenticated users to access unintended UI resources. LXD-UI inserts profile and authorization-group names directly into API and navigation URL paths without encoding, so browser normalization selects another project or resource. Exploitation requires permission to create a crafted resource and a second user to open or operate on it; the demonstrated consequence is unintended cross-project profile access or modification.
