CVE-2025-54257Public exploit

Code execution via freed page property object

Published Sep 9, 2025 · Updated Sep 9, 2025

Use after free in Adobe Acrobat Reader 25.001.20672 and earlier allows attackers to execute code when a user opens a malicious PDF. Crafted document JavaScript frees an AVPageLayoutEngine property-store object through page-property handling, then Acrobat Reader accesses that object without validating its lifetime. The victim must open the file; successful memory corruption executes code in the current user's context.
