Arbitrary website opening via crafted QR codes
Published Aug 19, 2025 · Updated Apr 13, 2026
Open redirect in Mozilla Firefox for iOS before 141 allows attackers to open arbitrary websites through a crafted QR code. The QR scanner accepts scanned content that invokes Firefox's open-text URL scheme and opens the embedded website instead of limiting the input to search text. Exploitation requires a user to scan the malicious code, after which Firefox loads the attacker-selected site; no code execution or service interruption is reported.
