Authenticated backend crash via missing API parameters
Published Jul 21, 2025 · Updated Jul 23, 2025
Denial of service in HAX CMS NodeJs 11.0.8 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to crash the backend via malformed API requests. The listFiles route passes an absent siteName into HAXCMS.loadSite, while both listed routes leave missing parameters able to raise an uncaught ERR_INVALID_ARG_TYPE exception. Low-privileged authenticated API access is required; a successful request stops the backend and any websites it serves for all users.
