CVE-2025-54133Network attack vector

Arbitrary command execution via hidden deeplink arguments

Published Aug 1, 2025 · Updated Aug 4, 2025

UI information disclosure in Anysphere Cursor 1.17 through 1.2 allows remote attackers to execute commands via an MCP install deeplink. The MCP deeplink handler omits attacker-supplied command arguments from its installation dialog but passes them to the executed command. Exploitation requires the user to open the crafted link, review the incomplete dialog, and approve installation, after which the arguments run locally.
