Unauthenticated command execution via middleware PUT handler
Published Sep 10, 2025 · Updated Sep 10, 2025
Command injection in SpectoLabs Hoverfly 1.11.3 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute host commands through the middleware API. The PUT handler for /api/v2/hoverfly/middleware accepts attacker-controlled binary and script values, then local middleware passes them to exec.Command and executes the result during validation. Unauthenticated network access to the admin API is sufficient, and commands run with the Hoverfly process's privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
