Authenticated code execution via unchecked image upload
Published Jun 1, 2025 · Updated Jun 2, 2025
Unrestricted file upload in Chaitak Gorai Blogbook allows remote authenticated users to execute code through a crafted post image. admin/includes/add_post.php passes the image parameter's original filename directly to move_uploaded_file without checking its extension or content, placing it in the web-accessible images directory. An account permitted to create posts is required; successful upload and direct retrieval of a server-executable file grants code execution as the web server process.
