Root code execution via unvalidated upload parameter
Published Dec 9, 2025 · Updated Feb 26, 2026
OS command injection in Fortinet FortiSandbox allows remote authenticated users to execute code through crafted HTTP requests. The upload_vdi_file endpoint passes a user-supplied string to a system call without proper validation, enabling execution as root. A valid authenticated session is required, and successful exploitation grants control of the appliance rather than only interrupting service.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=4.2.1 <=4.2.8
- Affected versionversion=4.4.0 <=4.4.7
