CVE-2025-53880

Arbitrary file writes and deletion via path traversal

Published Oct 30, 2025 · Updated Oct 30, 2025

Path traversal in SUSE Manager Proxy products allows remote attackers on an adjacent network to write or delete files. The tftpsync/add and tftpsync/delete scripts accept traversal sequences in requested paths and apply file operations outside the intended directory. The unauthenticated endpoint accepts only allowed source IP addresses, and successful operations run with the limited privileges of the wwwrun account.
