Trust-store replacement via unvalidated certificate downloads

Improper certificate validation in affected MFP firmware allows man-in-the-middle attackers to replace the trusted root certificate set. The CA certificate download function accepts certificates from an attacker-controlled download server without properly validating its server certificate, then installs the supplied CA certificates. An unauthenticated attacker must intercept or redirect the device's network connection; successful exploitation modifies the device's trust store without reported disclosure or service interruption.
