Local privilege escalation via Auth certificate export
Published Oct 14, 2025 · Updated Oct 14, 2025
Incorrect authentication in Microsoft Exchange Server allows local users to elevate privileges by exporting the Exchange Auth certificate. The Export-ExchangeCertificate cmdlet improperly permits export of the Exchange Auth certificate together with its private key. The cmdlet must run directly on an affected server; access exposes authentication key material and enables local privilege elevation.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
