Server-side requests via unsecured privilege XML parser
Published Jul 14, 2025 · Updated Nov 4, 2025
Blind XXE in affected Apache Jackrabbit releases allows remote authenticated users to make the repository resolve external entities. DOMWalker and PrivilegeXmlHandler create DocumentBuilderFactory instances without disabling DTDs or external entity processing when parsing privilege XML. Authenticated access to a privilege-definition import path is required; exploitation can force server-side requests or disclose reachable local data through out-of-band channels.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=2.20.0 <2.20.17
