Unauthenticated service interruption via unbounded scenario decompression
Published Jul 10, 2025 · Updated Jul 10, 2025
Resource exhaustion in CTFer.io Chall-Manager before 0.1.4 allows remote attackers to interrupt service via a crafted scenario archive. The scenario Decode path base64-decodes a supplied ZIP and writes every entry without limiting the aggregate expanded byte count. No authentication or user interaction is required, but the API is intended to remain inside trusted infrastructure rather than exposed to users.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
