Unauthenticated arbitrary file write via archive paths
Published Jul 10, 2025 · Updated Jul 10, 2025
Path traversal in CTFer.io Chall-Manager before 0.1.4 allows remote attackers to write files via crafted scenario archives. Decode in pkg/scenario/io.go joins each ZIP entry name to the extraction directory and writes the resulting path without verifying that it remains beneath that directory. No credentials are required, but the service is expected to be buried inside trusted infrastructure; a reachable instance permits writes outside the extraction directory.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
