CVE-2025-53624Network attack vector

GitHub token disclosure via client-bundled configuration

Published Jul 9, 2025 · Updated Jul 10, 2025

Information exposure in docusaurus-plugin-content-gists before 4.0.0 allows remote attackers to read a GitHub token from production JavaScript. The plugin accepts personalAccessToken through plugin options without separating sensitive build-time configuration from client runtime data, causing webpack to serialize the secret into main.[hash].js. Exposure requires an affected build configured with a token and public access to the generated site; the token grants the GitHub permissions assigned to it.
